Ms Meakin was a specialist in impressionist and modern art at Sotheby’s in London, and also worked in sales at several top galleries, including Timothy Taylor Gallery in London and Michael Reid in Sydney, before setting up a private consultancy business in art 12 years ago.

Mr. Parsons was director of the Karsten Schubert Gallery for a decade, where he worked with renowned contemporary artists, including Bridget Riley and Alison Wilding.

He moved to Los Angeles in 2013 to become Sales Director of Kayne Griffin Corcoran Gallery, returning to the UK in 2015 to work as a private dealer and consultant, and co-founded Meakin + Parsons in 2018.

He has also served as VIP Director of the London Art Fair for the past four years.

Meakin + Parsons are expanding their space at Delly End, near Witney, which was established in 2018.

The new gallery will be overseen by a new partner, Hannah Payne of The Art Five, who will showcase emerging contemporary artists through the gallery’s exhibition program and curate Here We Go.

Lucy Meakin will also continue the gallery’s advisory service, helping private clients build and manage their collections, and Ben Parsons will focus on the modern and contemporary program alongside the gallery’s strong secondary market activity.

This collective exhibition will be followed by a series of personal exhibitions, the first being an exhibition of Bridget Riley prints in March.

In addition to the exhibition space, the new gallery will include an artist studio dedicated to a series of artist residencies.

The studio’s first artist is Oxford-based Emily Wolfe, who will follow with a solo exhibition of new work.

North Parade has recently been pedestrianized and features a range of independent shops and artisan producers. Gallery neighbors include Barefoot Bakery, Brew Oxford, Oxford Clayhouse and 2 North Parade Produce.

It is also close to the Ashmolean, the Pitt Rivers Museum and the Oxford of Modern Art.

Here We Go in collaboration with Hannah Payne runs from February 11 to March 11.

Opening: Friday February 11 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday February 12 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
