PJSC Sberbank: Registration period for youth accelerators SberZ and SberStudent extended until March 1
Entrepreneur Accelerators — SberZ for high school and college students and SberStudent for undergraduates, postgraduates, and research fellows — are extending enrollment until March 1. As of February 14, more than 30,000 young people from 85 regions of Russia have registered.
Registered participants will have the chance to complete the Foundational Entrepreneurship Course and choose one of the industry tracks:
on artificial intelligence; co-organized by the AI Academy for schoolchildren
on topics related to the gaming industry; organized by SberGames
on areas of social importance – science, medicine, inclusiveness, education and art. The Russian Znanie Society is a partner of this track.
Track participants will have access to additional learning materials on their track and consultations with industry experts.
The SberZ and SberStudent accelerators last eight months. The first stage is where students take online courses on the basics of tech entrepreneurship, design a business project from scratch, and test their solution on potential customers. The second stage is where participants form teams and present their projects to a panel of experts. Between June and August, the selected teams will work with personal mentors, who will help them create MVPs (minimum viable products) and land their first sales. The most advanced teams will pitch during a demo day in their region and then travel to the super final in Moscow to present their projects in front of Sber executives, track partners, business leaders, investors and university deans.
Winners will share Sber’s prize fund; school children will also receive additional USE points and other preferences when entering universities, and student teams will receive start-up development grants from the Moscow Seed Fund.
Participation is free and applications are accepted until February 28, 11:59 p.m. Participants do not need a prepared business plan or idea when applying. All registered participants can join a referral program and compete for prizes: SberBox decoders, SberBox Time smart speakers and personal career consultations with Sber professionals. The first 50,000 participants will receive promotional codes for an extended subscription to Okko.
Lev Khasis, First Deputy Chairman of the Board, Sberbank:
“The last season of Youth Accelerators demonstrated that high school and undergraduate students can show impressive results and turn their projects into real businesses. We have already received more applications than last year, but the flow of young people wishing to participate in the accelerators continues We want as many children as possible to try their hand at starting their own business, including those in the most remote areas of the country, so we are completing the acceleration programs and extending the deadline application for two additional weeks.
