The application period is extended to serve on the foundation board of the cultural arts center
The Town of Simi Valley is recruiting individuals interested in serving on the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation Board of Directors.
The foundation is the fundraising arm of the cultural arts center and provides operational support that enables the center to provide artistic, cultural and educational programming to the community.
The foundation’s flagship event is the Spotlight Awards, a fundraiser that recognizes local artists, educators, volunteers and patrons for their contributions to the local arts community.
The foundation also hosts Special Foundation Nights, which are members-only receptions held in conjunction with the center’s major stage productions, and other special fundraising events throughout the year.
The foundation is a non-profit organization and is a separate entity from the town of Simi Valley.
The council comprises 21 members; the municipal council chooses seven members. The recruitment aims to fill four vacancies appointed by the City Council.
Foundation Board meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month at the Cultural Arts Center.
To apply, go online to simivalley.org/foundationapp.
The foundation seeks experienced nonprofit fundraisers, arts advocates, and community leaders.
The application deadline has been extended to 5 p.m. on Friday, August 26. Candidates will be interviewed by two members of the city council who will also make nomination recommendations.
